Two projects by Elliott + Associates Architects, Oklahoma City’s leading architecture firm, are shortlisted for the World Architecture Festival awards in Singapore this fall.
The shortlist, which includes more than 40 countries worldwide, lists only 10 U.S. architecture firms. Elliott + Associates is the only American firm recognized in their respective categories. Elliott + Associates has two projects, RJ Marfa and the Oklahoma State University Postal Plaza Gallery, featured in the residential and culture categories.
“The World Architecture Festival is the largest and most prestigious live awards competition in the world,” Elliott + Associates Principal Rand Elliott said. “For our firm’s projects to be chosen among the best in the world is a great honor.”
Inspired by artists represented at the Chinati Foundation’s contemporary art museum in Marfa, the vision of RJ Marfa focuses on a visual connection to landscape, the sky and the stars. The team focused on many ways to capture and view natural light.
The OSU Postal Plaza Gallery architectural concept was to create a teaching space, viewing galleries and a state-of-the-art storage facility to accommodate a new and growing collection of art.
The World Architecture Festival will take place Oct. 1-3. Richard Rogers (England), Rocco Yim (Hong Kong) and Julie Eizenberg (USA) are just a few of the 61 world-renowned judges and speakers.
