Last night the Journal Record’s Innovator of the Year Awards held at the Skirvin Hotel was inspiring and exciting! Rand Elliott, 2010 Innovator of the Year honoree, was the keynote speaker for this year’s award presentation.
Rand spoke about why he chose to stay in Oklahoma after interviewing with Philip Johnson in New York. He also shared his experiences of rebuilding a thriving architectural practice after the oil bust in 1983. Twenty-five years later in 2008, those powerful memories would propel Rand and the firm through another economic shift. One point he made was that innovators are pioneers. What he loves about Oklahoma is our Pioneer Spirit which makes this like no other place in the world.
Congratulations to all the innovative individuals and companies honored this year!
