The Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE) Shaped My Life series of videos highlights notable Oklahomans and the teaching profession. At a time when teacher shortages are acute statewide, the Shaped My Life campaign is a reminder of the ways educators change lives and leave a lasting legacy in the minds of their students.

In the Shaped My Life campaign (#shapEDmylife), short videos give some of our most distinguished fellow Oklahomans the opportunity to reflect on a teacher who made the greatest impact on their lives.

“We can never show enough appreciation for educators,” said State Superintendent of Public Instruction Joy Hofmeister. “We are hopeful that Shaped My Life will be an important reminder that teachers are heroes with the power, every day, to make a real and lasting difference that influences generations.”

From Broadway star Kristin Chenoweth and Oklahoma City Mayor Mick Cornett to award-winning author Lou Berney and former Miss America Jane Jayroe, each has a story to tell and a teacher to honor.

OSDE plans to release a new episode of the Shaped My Life campaign weekly. Use the #shapEDmylife hashtag on Facebook or Twitter to join the conversation about a teacher who shaped yours.
