ERA Real Estate Names Frank Malpica as New President

The residential real estate sector is currently experiencing a wave of notable executive shifts. Major brands are restructuring their leadership teams to better navigate evolving market conditions and aggressive expansion goals.

From national franchise networks to prominent independent brokerages, companies are positioning seasoned insiders into critical C-suite roles. These moves signal a renewed emphasis on strategic growth, technological integration, and brand positioning.

Leadership Transition at ERA Real Estate

ERA Real Estate has officially announced a major leadership change by promoting longtime executive Frank Malpica to the position of president. He steps into the role to replace Alex Vidal, who is departing the company after serving as president since 2023. Vidal notably made history during his tenure by becoming the first Hispanic leader to helm a national real estate brand.

Prior to this promotion, Malpica served as ERA’s senior vice president of franchise development and mergers and acquisitions (M&As). Through his strategic affiliations in that division, he successfully added billions in sales volume to the network. Liz Gehringer, president and CEO of brands at Compass International Holdings, praised Malpica as an insider growth leader who understands the brand from the ground up. His appointment reflects a deep commitment to internal talent and sustainable expansion.

FirstTeam Elevates Marketing Leadership

In tandem with the national franchise news, independent Southern California-based brokerage FirstTeam has elevated Lauren Henss to chief marketing and strategy officer. Henss previously served as the firm’s vice president of marketing and strategic initiatives following her arrival in 2024. Her expanded C-suite responsibilities include driving brand repositioning, recruitment initiatives, technology integration, and overall revenue growth.

Driving Future Growth and National Footprints

During her time with FirstTeam, Henss has already made significant contributions to the firm’s overarching trajectory. She successfully expanded the popular Behind the Agent platform and helped facilitate a high-profile marketing partnership with Brown Harris Stevens. These strategic accomplishments align closely with the brokerage’s ongoing nationwide market expansion.

The restructuring moves at both ERA and FirstTeam highlight a broader industry trend favoring agile management.
