Hays Police Department Shines Bright With Community Blue Lights

Fifteen private donors have united to install festive blue holiday lighting and a massive blue bow at the brand-new Hays Police Department building. This community-driven project serves as a heartfelt gesture of appreciation, support, and respect for the local law enforcement officers and staff who serve the area.

The centerpiece of this glowing holiday tribute is a massive blue bow measuring roughly 6.6 feet wide and 7.3 feet tall, complemented by 62 feet of ribbon. A formal dedication ceremony for the display is set for November 10 at 9 a.m. at the new facility, celebrating community bonds and municipal architecture.

Illuminating the New Facility

The festive lights will officially illuminate the building around November 12, perfectly coinciding with the start of the Holiday Open House Weekend on The Bricks. Project organizer Sarah Cearley-Windholz noted that the initiative aims to show officers that the entire community stands firmly behind them.

A Symbol of Lasting Support

Local businesses and families, such as Simply Charmed, Werth Heating Plumbing & AC, and PWC, Inc., generously funded the seasonal installation. Organizers hope the glowing tribute acts as a constant, year-round reminder of the vital value public safety workers bring to the neighborhood.
